METRON and Purecontrol join forces to accelerate the decarbonization of industry through the optimization and energy efficiency of water management infrastructures

METRON and Purecontrol have signed a structuring partnership agreement to accelerate the decarbonization of industry through the optimization of industrial processes by artificial intelligence. By combining METRON’s expertise in energy consumption analysis and monitoring with Purecontrol’s expertise in real-time energy management and optimization of water sector assets, this partnership will enable the development of a new offer to reduce the energy footprint of industrial players.

Faced with the dual energy and ecological crisis, the industrial sector is now more than ever faced with the need to rethink its use, consumption and management of energy, in order to embark on an ambitious trajectory to reduce its carbon footprint. Since industry accounts for nearly 20% of greenhouse gas emissions in France, decarbonizing the industrial sector is a priority for the sector and for society as a whole.

With this conviction and their experience in supporting more than 200 industrial players, METRON and Purecontrol see in this partnership the opportunity to pool their respective expertise to accelerate the decarbonization of the sector. This new offer combines METRON’s mapping, analysis and real time monitoring of energy consumption tools with Purecontrol’s energy management and optimization software.

Through this partnership, the energy footprint of water treatment and management infrastructure, which often represents a blind spot in industry decarbonization trajectories, can also be reduced. Energy-related expenses represent on average up to 70% of a water management site’s budget.

Purecontrol has been working since 2017 alongside a wide range of players in the field of water management and has notably developed a tool to reduce, thanks to artificial intelligence, the energy footprint of pond aeration systems in wastewater treatment plants by up to 30%, which is the most energy-intensive item in the water treatment process.

Over the last 10 years, METRON has supported more than 20,000 sites worldwide in their energy management, thanks to real-time analysis and monitoring tools that enable companies to reduce their carbon footprint by up to 15%.

The complementary nature of these offerings will provide customers of both companies with a broader and more detailed understanding of all the parameters involved in a site’s energy consumption, and thus enable better optimization of industrial processes.
This partnership also aims to provide greater visibility on the energy performance of industrial sites, by enabling centralized multi-site monitoring, particularly for water management players.

This partnership represents a new accessible, comprehensive and operational lever available to industrial players to meet the challenges of the energy crisis and make a lasting commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of all their activities.

Gautier Avril, Co-founder of Purecontrol: “METRON analyzes the whole car, while Purecontrol takes care of the cruise control. This strategic alliance marks an acceleration for decarbonization by providing a complete solution. We are convinced that it is by combining the strengths of companies like ours that we will be able to contribute to the ecological transition in an efficient way.”

Vincent Sciandra, CEO of METRON: “This partnership with Purecontrol demonstrates our desire to act faster and stronger for the decarbonization of industry, by combining highly complementary technical expertise. I am delighted with this partnership approach, which will provide our customers with better knowledge, visibility and transparency on energy consumption.”

About Purecontrol:

Founded in 2017, Purecontrol leverages artificial intelligence to significantly reduce operational costs, energy consumption, and optimize operations for the water management, industrial and renewable energy sectors. Purecontrol has saved 1.6 million kilowatt hours in 2021, and over 1,000 tons of CO2. Today deployed on more than 200 sites, the solution has proven its efficiency on the processes thanks to the real-time control of the installations and the analysis of the data. In 2021, Purecontrol was awarded the Greentech Innovation label by the French Ministry of Ecological Transition in the “energy efficiency” category, thus demonstrating the eco-innovative dimension of the solutions provided.

About METRON :

METRON is a French cleantech company whose purpose is to digitalize energy to decarbonize territories. The software solution developed by METRON allows companies in all sectors to analyze and optimize their energy consumption in real time and reduce their carbon footprint. Founded in 2013 in Paris, METRON has over 150 employees worldwide. Key players in the energy sector have recognized METRON as a global game-changer: ranked in the “Cleantech 100” in 2022 (San Francisco) and French Tech Green20 in 2021 and 2022, and awarded by BloombergNEF (New-York) in 2019, among others. The METRON solution is also certified as a “Solar Impulse Efficient Solution” for the world.
