N20 emissions: In Rennes, the first French wastewater treatment plant piloted to reduce its carbon footprint

What if artificial intelligence became a lever operational to decarbonize sanitation?

Rennes Métropole and Purecontrol have deployed, on the Beaurade station (360,000 ETH), the first real-time control system in France aimed at reducing emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O) — main contributor of greenhouse gases in the sector.

This innovation, now extended to stations of Saint-Erblon and Betton, marks a key step towards carbon neutrality of sanitation services.

In this conference, find out not only the approach, but also the concrete results of this pioneer project:

  • Lower emissions,
  • Energy efficiency gains,
  • And prospects for deployment on a larger scale for more sustainable sanitation.
